February 4, 2025

Welcome to our January Newsletter! With 2025 now well underway, the team at MT have well and truly hit the ground running. We’ve had an incredible start to the year, marked by new partnerships, industry events, and impactful campaigns that have set the stage for what’s set to be a fantastic year ahead.

In this edition of MT Influence, we’re thrilled to share our recent appointment as the global agency for VETUS and Smartgyro, two industry leaders in the marine sector. We also reflect on our time at industry events, including The British & International Franchise Exhibition and boot Düsseldorf 2025, where we delivered some great results for our clients. Plus, we’re shining a spotlight on our recent work with Coeliac UK, supporting its vital campaign in response to the NHS Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutand ICB’s decision to withdraw gluten free prescriptions.

It’s been a busy start to the year, and we can’t wait to continue supporting our clients and driving success in the months ahead.

Welcome on board to our new clients, VETUS and Smartgyro

We are thrilled to have been appointed as the global agency for VETUS and Smartgyro, two leading brands in the marine industry. This new partnership will see us deliver global public relations and social media services, leveraging our expertise to support their communication goals.

VETUS, established in 1964, has set the standard in onboard boat systems, with a wide range of innovative products trusted by boaters and yacht builders worldwide.

Smartgyro, a pioneer in gyro stabilisation technology, is revolutionising the marine industry with its high-performance products for recreational and commercial vessels.

With a comprehensive portfolio of products, services, and expertise, the Marine Recreational Business Unit delivers total solutions as a leading engine and equipment manufacturer and includes YANMAR Marine International B.V., VETUS, MAXWELL Marine International Limited, Flexofold ApS and, Smartgyro.

We are looking forward to helping both brands elevate their global presence and contribute to their continued success in the marine sector.

That’s a wrap on boot Düsseldorf 2025

Our team had a great show at one of the world’s biggest boating events. From press conferences and media 1-2-1s to strategic planning and networking, our days were filled with exciting opportunities. We explored the latest trends, created engaging content, and supported our clients in making a lasting impact at the show. It was a fantastic experience, and we’re already looking forward to what else is to come in 2025!

Shining a spotlight on Coeliac UK’s Prescription’s Campaign in Leicestershire

We’ve been working closely with Coeliac UK in response to NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board’s decision to withdraw gluten free prescriptions for individuals with coeliac disease.

Through an impactful case study and Coeliac UK’s unwavering commitment to supporting those affected, we successfully secured extensive regional, local, and industry coverage on this crucial issue. Our coverage included prominent broadcast features on BBC East Midlands Evening News, Capital Leicester, and Smooth East Midlands, all reinforcing the key messages.

This PR campaign furthers Coeliac UK’s mission to ensure those with coeliac disease have reliable access to essential gluten free products, particularly during a time when the cost-of-living crisis is disproportionately impacting them. We are proud to support such an important cause.

Exploring the Future of Franchising at The British & International Franchise Exhibition

Our specialist franchise team recently attended The British & International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia London. The event was bustling with valuable meetings, insightful speaker sessions, and provided us with an opportunity to hear about the latest developments in the sector.

The franchising industry continues to thrive, contributing over £19bn to the UK economy, with more than 1,000 franchise systems now operating in the country. However, engaging the next generation of entrepreneurs is essential, as only 7% of new franchisees are under 30, a sharp decline from 27% last year.

We’re proud to have worked with some of the biggest brands in the franchise sector and look forward to supporting the continued growth and innovation within the industry.

Boosting Yamaha Marine’s presence at boot Düsseldorf with expert social media support

At this year’s boot Düsseldorf, and as part of our on-going social media programme for our client Yamaha Marine Europe, we helped to deliver comprehensive social media activity to support the brand’s presence at the show.  Our expert social media team provided day-to-day contact, fresh ideas, engaging social copy, and strategic support to ensure Yamaha’s presence stood out and delivered substantial results. Working closely with the Yamaha team, we ensured every post, update, and campaign was a success, helping to maximise the brand’s impact at this major event.
