The brief - Subway® £2 Chicken WOW marketing campaign

To create a fully integrated media marketing campaign to promote the £2 Chicken Sub in the North West of England. The campaign featured a Chicken Breast 6-inch Sub for £2 and was designed to increase traffic to stores and encourage trial.

Our strategy:

  • Developed new creative marketing campaign to promote the £2 Chicken Sub with the focus on WOW to create excitement and drive engagement
  • Developed suite of assets including radio advert, outdoor, press adverts and digital
  • Developed all in-store materials to promote the campaign

  • Implemented PR campaign including media relations, media tours delivering Subs to key radio stations and newspapers across the region, and developed social media plan
  • Drafted and distributed all internal communications for the campaign to ensure franchisees were aware of the campaign, when to install creative in-store, and to share operational best-practice

Winning Results

  • Traffic sharply increased since the start of the campaign (and has continued tracking above the national average) with some stores seeing a 10% increase in customers


  • Widespread media mentions following media tour across key target radio stations
